I had the advantage of reading the adventure several years after publication, and I had already bought the three core rulebooks. The Dungeon Master’s Guide, which does have rules for wilderness travel, was still months in the future. ![]() When this was released, only the Player’s Handbook had been published. Yet the placement of these locations is definitely not on any roads or major paths, according to the area map. ![]() One of the many things that bothered me about this adventure was that it included a “sandbox” without any kind of instructions or rules for how to deal with wilderness travel. I should have put this at the beginning of the articles on the “sandbox” I suppose–but I didn’t think of it. So let’s talk about traveling in the wilderness. ![]()
